Focus: Return of the Voicethread! On Wednesday we will be talking about the next big project. AL students will spearhead again. The end goal is that we will all have websites with a section devoted to our Romeo & Juliet study. It will include our LC projects, individual essays, and extra credit assignments. Starting Tuesday, two LCs at a time will be making their websites. Sites will have:
  • Home page (put objects for both Project sections here)
  • Learning Circle Projects (use Announcements template)
  • Individual Projects (use Announcements template)
  • Extra Credit (use Announcements template)
  • Contact me - Name, Bio, School Address, your email, your Edmodo Username, an representative image.

Monday: R&J Prologue
  • WM: Anticipation Guide
  • Notes: About the Globe and about the Prologue; Dramatic Purpose, Round/Flat Chars. 
  • HW: 2 Questions, read 771-773. 
AL: Students make websites. Goal is to create a site and edit "Contact Me" page so that it reflects you. Must have short personal bio in 3rd person, school address and phone, and an image that represents you. 

  • WM: LC competitive warmup quiz
  • Notes: Dramatic Purpose of Samp. & Greg., Syllable Count, Sexual references, Symbolic imagery. Note how Samp & Greg are in Prose but Tybalt's lines are in Blank Verse. 
  • HW: LA 772, LA#2 773. Sidebar 2 Vocabulary words with definitions. Vocabulary words do not have to be the bolded ones. Preread 774-775
  • Special: LC1 and LC2 Check for Gmail, Make Website. 
AL: Continue websites and gmail accounts on 5 internet stations. Students who are not on computers are to be in tutorials. No blue book. All students should have websites and gmail addresses by the end of the period.

  • WM: see presentation
  • Notes: Prose, Blank Verse, Iambic Pentameter, Feet. Prince's orders to the families. 
  • HW: LA 774, RC 775. Sidebar 2 words w/ def. Preread 776 to 778, end of Scene 1. 
  • Special: LC3 & LC4 Gmail, Website. 
AL: Organize sites so that they are structured like the template found here (link). Sidebar should contain only elements listed above. 

  • WM: see presentation
  • Notes: Oxymoron, Thou and Thee. Benvolio acting as foil to romantic Romeo. Meaning of names. Note how in lines 151 to 154 the two cousins' lines fit together to make Blank Verse. 
  • HW: LA 776, RS 777. Sidebar 2 words w/ def. Study Scenes 1 and 2.
  • Special: LC5 & LC6 Gmail, website.
AL: Continue from Wednesday. All students should have their pages organized by now.  

Friday: Quiz R&J Act 1, Scene 1 (Quiz 3)
Packet Includes:
  • Quiz on top
  • Notes with Warmups and HW completed for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
  • Edmodo assignment from last Friday needs to be completed. New Edmodo assignment will be added for the weekend. Preread Scene 3, P. 781 to 783. 
  • If you have note completed your website, do so now.
